There are several planes that fly into Monrovia at Roberts Field International Airport. Immediately getting off of the plane there will be a number of people trying to help with your luggage in exchange for small payment. The best course of action is to select one or two and firmly decline the others. Like a lot of West African countries, there are plenty of taxis that will drive you throughout the country. The taxis are very cheap, relatively comfortable, however, many of the cab drivers are very poor in skill. The roads are fairly safe in Monrovia, however, outside of the city can get dangerous. There are a few streetlights in Monrovia, however, most of Liberia is unsafe to drive during the night - it is pitch black.
