There are several African and European airlines that arrive at Tokoin Airport. If flying from Africa, it is cheaper to arrange a flight from Accra, Ghana or Contonou, Benin. However, if flying from the United States, you may have fly to Europe and catch a connecting flight to Dakar, Abidjan or Accra. Renting cars in Togo has gotten increasingly expensive, so the most economical option is travel by taxi. Most roads are in good condition, however, in remote parts it is wise to invest in traveling with 4WD. There is a large network of mini-buses in Togo and is relatively cheap to travel in one. There is a surcharge for luggage but this is West Africa, and bargaining is the best way to make both parties happy. Another option for the explorers is to travel by bicycle. Bikes are available to rent in the city.
